HUG
Europe’s Number One Pastry Cases Brand Now Available Locally and On Show At Foodservice Australia

Australian foodservice’s ‘must-see’ tradeshow is the place to see and sample for yourself the extensive selection available from HUG, Europe’s number one brand for pastry cases.

Dalya Australia has brought this quality, family-owned brand to our shores and will be showcasing samples from across the entire HUG range at Foodservice Australia this coming May.

Leading food consultant and chef Brigid Treloar will be at the HUG stand to demonstrate the superior quality and versatile application of their cases, showcasing how a range of fillings can be used and giving you the chance to taste-test the products for yourself.

The HUG family began producing pastry tartelettes in 1877 in Switzerland and today the fourth generation following in the footsteps of those pioneers is maintaining the same high standards which have established the brand’s international reputation for excellence throughout Europe, the US and Japan.

Available in a comprehensive range of sizes, shapes and colours and including savoury and dessert tartelettes and cones, HUG pastry cases are made from the highest quality ingredients using natural raw materials and are preservative free with only minimal additives.

The superiority of this production process removes the necessity to freeze the pastry cases to maintain freshness. In fact, HUG pastry cases are shelf-stable for up to 12 months (from date of manufacture) and also freeze-thaw stable – enabling you to create your fillings and toppings, add these to the HUG case and then freeze the finished product so you can defrost and serve when required, with no compromise on quality or presentation. They come ready-baked, but have been designed so they can be oven-heated once filled if desired, without any compromise on finished quality.

Each pastry case is glazed on the inside with non hydrogenated vegetable oil to prevent moisture migration from your fill into the pastry. This enables HUG cases to hold their integrity for much longer than conventional frozen pastry – they won’t go soggy from your filling, but will stay attractively crisp for superior mouthfeel. This means you can fill the cases well in advance of serving, secure in the knowledge that the quality will not deterioriate – facilitating more effective time-management.

HUG cases also boast a delicate, pleasant flavour and texture, with none of the buttery or rancid aftertaste you sometimes find in pastry cases made with tripe. As they’re only slightly sweetened, the combination of a sweet filling with the case creates a harmony of tastes, and they’re equally suited to savoury applications.

But don’t take our word for it – you can try HUG pastry cases for yourself at Foodservice Australia, where Dalya Australia will have samples from across the range and a tray from every production line on display.

An extensive range of recipes will also be available at the show, and you can find more online at www.dalya.com.au/recipes – which includes a selection from around the world, encompassing numerous cuisine styles and flavour profiles and emphasising the versatility of these high quality pastry cases.
