Walter has 43 years in the foodservice industry and has been exposed to business practices in four continents in that time. Having been involved in every aspect of the hospitality industry in both front and back of house, Walter is well-regarded in industry circles.

He is currently board director of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and a member of the International Food and Beverage Forum. Having served as a board member of Restaurant and Catering Victoria for five years he is renowned in Australia as a dynamic business and people leader. His expertise as a businessman lies in developing concepts from pre-opening of venues and future planning.

He is fluent in English, French, Italian and German, and can also converse in basic Japanese and Spanish and is a highly sought-after advisor to organisations around the world. He was a guest speaker at the Congress of World Association of Cooks Societies (WACS), held in Melbourne in March 1998 and at the World Gourmet Summit in Singapore, April 2003.
