International Chefs Day 2013

Chefs and friends of Asia,

Sunday October 20 is International Chefs Day and on behalf of my fellow Board Directors and President Gissur, from the World Association of Chef Societies; I would like to take this day as a day of recognition to you the chef.

In our growing world’s economy, there are many hurdles and burdens placed at our feet and we, as chefs have the ability like no other industry to UNITE and confront those issues as a team. The phrase ‘Chefs without Borders’ does not only target the borders between our countries, but also embraces non-political, personal and humanitarian issue in our societies.

Many of our member countries with their respective branches have numerous plans coming up to celebrate our Chefs Day. Please share these with all our members and the members of the World Association of Chefs Societies. This will show the strength and unity in Asia as one of the leading

WACS Continents. International Chefs Day is for chefs to give back to society and celebrate our profession without any borders. To feed an extra two people or 200 people today that may have not eaten yesterday is already an achievement by all, and I guarantee the acknowledgement and respect you receive from those people will not be forgotten.

On a personal note colleagues, I would like to take this day to say “Thank you” to each and every one of you for the support that you have bestowed upon me, without your support here in Asia we would not have achieved our strength. I look forward to meeting up with you in our various travels and say to you” Have a Great Day!”

Friends Happy Cooking!
